The Man on Fun!

Bob is an astronaut and he is known as the Man on Fun. One morning Bob cartwheeled to work and on the way he stopped to get some caramel toffees and a colouring book.  Quickly he shot into Space in his colourful rocket.

A short while later Bob landed on Planet Fun it was a a large, violet planet.  Bob had to clean the computer because it was mucky.  When he was cleaning the computer he bumped into a pink and fluffy heart.  Bob climbed into his rocket and saw some shapes by some green sticks.  He was getting hungry.

At lunch time Bob’s friends Rose from Neptune and Milly from Saturn came for lunch.  Bob had jam sandwiches, crunchy prawn cocktail crisps and ginger coloured carrot cake.  When Bob had finished his picnic he and his friends played noughts and crosses.

After that Bob entertained the tourists by dressing up as aliens.  Then he sold the tourists bags of hearts and he talked about planet Fun and the sharp shapes.

Before Bob went home he checked there was nobody left behind in the pink heart tunnels.  After that Bob climbed into his shiny rainbow rocket.  When Bob got home he watched some dino cartoons then he went to bed.  What a wonderful day Bob had!

Man on Red Stream

Bob is an astronaut and he is known as the Man on Red Stream.  Bob slowly drove to the launch pad but on his way he stopped for his favourite book and some toffees. Bob climbed into his shiny metal rocket.  Then he flew to planet Red Stream.

A short while later Bob landed on red hot Red Stream.  Bob could see a scarlet bubbling volcano in the distance. When he climbed out he realised there were crumbs everywhere.  Then Bob swept until it was sparkling.

At lunch time Bob’s friends Jack from Jupiter and Violet from Venus came for lunch.  Bob enjoyed eating cooked bacon sandwiches, tasty chicken sticks, brown chocolate cake and some juicy pears.  Bob and his friends had a jolly time looking at the colourful stars.

After that Bob did some perfect fidget spinner tricks for the tourists.  Later Bob sold bags of red dust, tasted tasty space food and played ball games.  Before Bob went home, he checked in the deep red craters to be certain that there were no more tourists left.

After that Bob boarded his metal shiny rocket then flew back home.  When Bob arrived home he watched TV.  What a busy day Bob had!

Welcome to Year 2!

Our Year 2 children have settled in brilliantly and are already working hard and learning new skills.

In English we are focussing on ‘Stories by the same author’, exploring books by the author Simon Bartram. We’ve enjoyed reading and writing about ‘The Man on the Moon’ and ‘Dougal’s Diary’ so far.

In Maths the children are learning about Place Value and are practising counting in 2s, 3s, 5s and 10s too.  They’ve started to investigate measures and have used a range of measuring tools for length and mass.

Our topic for this half term is ‘What’s it like to be an explorer?’ and we will be focussing our History enquiry work on Christopher Columbus and Neil Armstrong.  Look out for our exciting Home Learning tasks coming home on Friday linked to this topic.

Our PE days for this half term will be a Tuesday and a Friday.

I look forward to meeting you all on Tuesday night at ‘Meet the Teacher’.
